STS Celebrating Success with Golden Envelope Winners SB UtilitiesBrandon Bligh
As a framework supplier to Severn Trent Services (STS), SB Utilities were invited to attend the annual STS supplier day where we were asked to present to the attendees an example of success and collaboration. Severn Trent Services provide water and wastewater asset operation and management services to the MOD and a wide range of public and private sector organisations across the UK.
The subject of the presentation was a project that required an agile business, security cleared employees, extensive asset knowledge and a ‘can do’ attitude towards safety of staff and the general public.
Upon receiving notification of the incident our team attended site and carried out the repair work to a burst 9” cast iron main in a little under 5 hours, this rapid response of SB Utilities and the collaboration with the client’s re-zoning team prevented excessive losses of drinking water peaking at 60m3 and negated any threat of a client performance event being imposed through the loss of supply to the military garrison.
The work was completed by 02:00am, with the site fully reinstated the following day, this work example showed the quality and the effectiveness of our 24/7 call out system and our positive relationship with the client.
A short Q&A carried out on the day with our management team detailed how we managed to react quickly and efficiently. This was followed with the first ever ‘golden envelope’ from Severn Trent Services being awarded to SBU Water Services Manager Oliver Bradbury and Managing Director Darren Swales to congratulate us on commitment to producing safe and secure assets.
This task highlighted the collaborative working relationship that the two companies have developed at grass roots level over the past 14 years and it is great to see the hard work of the employees being noticed and rewarded.
